Testimonies

"Rev 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

Testimonies help us to overcome obstacles in our lives.  By testifying the whole Body of Christ is built up.  Be encouraged by the testimonies below.

DuncanSB.JPGA Pastor's testimony about the work of Reformation in his church

Apostle Andre visited Sowerby Bridge Elim Church on the weekend of 4th April, 2009 and I feel it is time for an update on all that's been happening here since.

We have been deeply impacted in the area of worship. Prophet Nola's and Prophet Mimi's visit in January 2008 began a journey for us in this area which we are still enjoying.

Since, Apostle Aje and Chantel's visit at the end of June, we have made some radical changes in the worship area and have seen tremendous fruit as a result. New songs have begun to emerge. This has brought great blessing to the body of Christ by way of renewed intimacy with God. We also saw deliverance during their stay with us.

The presence of God is very strong and visitors comment regularly about it as they walk into the church. There is an increase in the love of the body and often people are unwilling to depart at the end of a service, preferring instead to fellowship with one another.

People are hearing from God. This is regularly confirmed through the body - as one hears, another will confirm Scripture or answered prayer. This is one of the most exciting areas we are experiencing as the Holy Spirit uses each of us as he sovereignly chooses. We are all one in him.

Last week, (August 18th 2009) someone had a dream about angels and Jesus appearing in the church wanting to impart gifts.  As a result, we prayed for the whole church individually. There was a powerful presence of God and we saw four people saved and two recommitments to Christ.

I have never before been so sure of there being salvation in the house. I have given many altar calls and it was always with the hope of salvation. On this occasion, I felt salvation was already secured. The whole commitment experience was very relaxed as people received Christ where they were in the room, kneeling before Him.

There is an increase in the passion for prayer and God's word. The prophets are busy and regularly discern what is happening in the realm of the Spirit. The preaching is informed by and rooted in this new move of God. We are less concerned about spectacular manifestation, but God, nonetheless, is spectacularly present!

Yesterday, someone who had suffered paralysis of the left arm because of a recent stroke, testified to God's healing as he is now able to move his arm and lift it high to God's glory.

On their first visit, back in January 2008, Prophet Mimi, brought this word to the church:

‘You will go deep, but it will not be cheap. For I will strip you and it will be unto you as nakedness before man. But in my sight, know this, in my sight, you will be clothed with glory. You will be clothed in glory that will shame man and bring reproach from man, not because of you, but because of my glory upon you that will separate and divide, convict and be very strict. For sin will not abide as I divide. The glory of God will remain and you will claim territory in my name. It has started. The decree shall go far and wide, from the fortress to the river, from sea to sea and mountain to mountain. The Lord has spoken. Amen.'

It is true to say that we have been living out these words ever since they were spoken. It has not been cheap. There has been a cost to pay. People have been offended and have left. This new move has not always been received and some have not understood it. There has been a separating and dividing. There has been the constant glory of God upon the church. It did start that day.

We see, also, an increasing influence among those who hear what God is doing in the earth. These people often from other churches are tasting and seeing that the Lord is good.

We look forward to joining you all at this year's summit. God's timing is wonderful, too.

What a testimony of what transpires when the senior elder in a church and his wife is willing to pay the price to renew their thinking and to move on with the Spirit. It is an example for many other churches, in denominations as well as independent churches. There is absolutely no limit to what the Spirit can do when leaders are willing to change. Instead of resisting the spirit Pastor Duncan and Beverly have embraced the new dimensions ushered in by apostolic and prophetic ministry and did not feel threatened by these gifts to the church. As a result they are experiencing new dimensions in the changed spiritscape. We commend them as officers in the army of the Lord and hope many will follow suit. I am sure their influence will spread among the Elim churches and soon we will see a great breakthrough in that corner of the vineyard of the Lord. Praise God.
